Only a very select number of doctors nationwide are dual-trained neurosurgeons.

Some of the most experienced lead the Stroke and Cerebrovascular Center of New Jersey at Capital Health.

At the Stroke and Cerebrovascular Center of NJ, Erol Veznedaroglu, MD, FACS, Kenneth Liebman, MD, FACS, and Mandy J. Binning, MD conduct expert diagnoses and medical and surgical treatment for all cerebrovascular conditions, including stroke, brain aneurysms, brain diseases, spinal vascular malformations, carotid stenosis and intracranial atherosclerosis.

Through unique coordination with referring physicians, a multidisciplinary staff and advanced diagnostic, medical and surgical services, our experts work together to provide the most comprehensive treatment available for patients requiring advanced cerebrovascular care. Patients receive the highest level of care by Capital Health's nursing staff, which has achieved the prestigious MAGNET status.

Dr. Veznedaroglu, Dr. Liebman and Dr. Binning are available 24 hours a day/7 days a week and personally work with referring physicians and emergency physicians to evaluate patients and seamlessly arrange for the appropriate treatment.

Because they were among the first to use many of the most current treatment methods, you can be confident that our neurosurgeons have the experience and expertise to provide you with excellent care and guidance from diagnosis to treatment. As dual trained neurosurgeons, they can perform both traditional surgery and less invasive endovascular approaches, which means patients can receive the care they need, by one doctor, without delay.

Our neurosurgeons are joined by an experienced, specially trained team with years of experience. This team devotes its time to the care of our neurosurgical patients and knows how to care for your condition, and you, from the moment you arrive through your follow up care. And, when required, our patients are cared for in the hospital's Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit, one of only a handful in the state. This provides our patients with the advanced care required for the unique needs of neurosurgical patients.

Our physicians are committed not only to providing the best care but also to helping move the field forward to achieve even better approaches and outcomes. This includes training other doctors in the use of tools such as the Enterprise Stent, Wingspan Stent, and ONYX HD 500 glue for AVMs and aneurysms, and researching and describing the relation of smoking and the recurrence of aneurysms. In addition, they are routinely among the first to use many newly invented devices such as the Penumbra device and new devices being investigated for use including TREVO™ and Solitaire™.
